Bollywood’s fashion diva Deepika Padukone’s wardrobe at MTV European Music Awards ended up stirring a controversy amidst industry fashion pundits. The debate started when The Daily Mail featured the actress among the Worst Dressed Celebs in their article and tagged her as Bollywood Blunder. While some took it as an offence, other argued that the beauty can never go wrong with her sartorial experiments.
The Daily Mail wrote, “Indian actress Deepika Padukone may be stunning but her swamp green bralet and skirt combo did nothing for her sensational figure”. Little did they know that their style opinion will go wrong with Deepika’s fans. It was earlier reported that the daily once failed to recognise the actress when she stepped out with tennis player Novak Djokovic. After being criticised by Indian audiences, they had to apologise by re-introducing Deepika in the same article.
The 30-year-old walked the red carpet wearing a Monisha Jaising ensemble comprising a military green thigh-high slit skirt and a bralet featuring metallic embellishments. Her stylist Shaleena Nathani spruced up her layered looks with a broad belt and long tassel earrings.
Besides attending the show, the actress co-presented the Best Video Award to a Canadian artist The Weeknd with her xXx: Return of Xander Cage co-star Nina Dobrev. Last spotted at Mumbai airport, Deepika left for Rotterdam wearing a colourful outfit and black booties.
