Dia Mirza called for freedom of choice for women at The Power Women Seminar – A Leadership meet celebrating Women. While speaking at the event, the actress said a woman should push ahead and not respond to people with patriarchal mindsets.
The actress recalled how a producer and a director had gone to her home to convince her parents, that she had a bright future in the Hindi film industry. She added that since she wasn’t from the film industry, they felt the need to convince her parents about the safety aspect of Bollywood.
Dia went on to say that she was given the freedom to choose her career and that is something millions of Indian women don’t have, which needs to be changed.
The actress looked lovely in her traditional look wearing a yellow kurta with blue sleeves over a pair of red pants with flared bottom.
Dia will be next seen on-screen in Dutt alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Among her recent appearances, Dia attended Colours Khidkiyaan Theater Festival held at Sathaye College in Mumbai wearing a floral print dress.
Last spotted, Dia attended the International Advertising Association’s Olive Crown Awards which were held in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. She was also joined by her Dum co-star Vivek Oberoi at the venue.
